A Legacy of Gospel Partnership
 
In 1923, the Baptist Student Union was established at the University of Oklahoma through the visionary leadership of E.F. “Preacher” Hallock, pastor of First Baptist Church of Norman.

More than a century later, BSU is now known as Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM). While the name has changed, the mission remains: Oklahoma churches and inivdiuals working together to advance the gospel and make disciples at the University of Oklahoma.

For more than 100 years, this ministry has been sustained by God’s grace and the faithful prayers, generosity, and partnership of people like you. 

What God began in 1923, He continues today.

HISTORY

Sent to the Campus. Sent to the Harvest.

 

We are sent to the University of Oklahoma as missionaries, commissioned and supported by cooperating Oklahoma Baptist churches who believe the gospel belongs on campus.

Together—as staff, volunteers, and student leaders—we seek to:

 

DECLARE the Gospel.
Proclaim Jesus and call students to follow Him.

 

DEVELOP qualified laborers.
Equip students to become faithful, capable disciple-makers.

 

DEPLOY reproducing leaders into the harvest.
Send trained leaders who make disciples who make disciples—across the nation and around the world.

  • Alumni to the OUBCM Ministries

  • Alumni to today’s OU students

 
What God began through BSU/BCM in our generation was not a finished chapter. It is a movement that continues.

The Sooner Bridge helps us connect relationships, carry wisdom and stories forward, and continue the legacy.

A bridge is built to be crossed. So we invite you to cross the bridge with us:
 

  • Pray — for students, leaders, and staff.

  • Give — to help strengthen and advance gospel ministry and disciple-making on campus.

  • Advocate — help connect others to this ministry & expand its impact around the world.
     

The gospel that changed our lives is changing lives today.
